Snow tips today

18 Dec

No I’m not suggesting the usual ‘don’t eat yellow snow’ or wrap up warm but due to only 2 games on in the Premiership today we have no bets.
I have my eye on a couple tomorrow, so stay tuned and will write them up later.

Premiership tips – round #17

11 Dec

Just got time to posts today’s bets in-between shopping trips.
Won a couple of bets last week but still a loss but very small one.
Some interesting games this round including 2 big ones in Spurs v Chelsea and Man U v Arsenal. Might post some tips for those tomorrow.
We also got 2 Birmingham derbies which I’ll sure the West Midlands police are happy with!

Anyway, going with a couple of old favourites this season, starting at Craven Cottage.

Fulham v Sunderland

Things have taking a downward turn for Fulham this season after last seasons success and a lack of firepower could be see them leave the Premiership come May.
Sunderland don’t have that trouble with Bent, Ghan and Wellbeck full of goals. However trying fit them all in is proving tricky and causing a negative slant on the creative side.
As such, I can see a HT draw here, maybe with the Mackems taking it in the second half.

2 points – Half time result – draw @ 11/10 (Stan James)

Stoke City v Blackpool

Blackpool are back in action again and hopefully raring to go from the off.
It’s the usual format, attack from kick-off and hopefully nick the first corner. Victor Chandler are offering the market as well as Bet365 today.

1 point – First corner – Blackpool @ 6/4 (VCBet)

Premiership tips – round #13

13 Nov

No time for a full write up today, so here my tips.

Aston Villa v Man United – 2 points on Man U @ 5/6 (Coral)

Both to score double – Wolves v Bolton & West Ham v Blackpool – 1 point @ 10/11 & 8/13 (Stan James)

Everton v Arsenal – 1 point on Half Time result – draw @ 11/10 (Coral)

Back with full review next week.

World Cup 2010- Day #13 – Group C

22 Jun

Lucky for some, day 13 has arrived for the World Cup and D-Day for England. My outright bet isn’t looking to clever at the moment but we’re all sure it’ll be alright on the night (or by tea-time at least).

England v Slovenia

We all know what is needed from this game for England and despite the poor showing in the last two games, still believe we are too good to go home.

With so many questions on personel and formations, it is difficult to decide on how the game will pan out, as such, will take a chance on a booking and hope for an England win.

1 point on Rooney being booked @ 5/2 (William Hill)

USA v Algeria

The States are in the same boat as us, needing a win to get through to the next round, but for some reason they are Evens to win not 1/2 as for England.

Algeria are solid defensively but could struggle to score in this game and with the comeback from USA in their last game giving them a big boost, the Americans should get the nod on this one.

1.5 points USA to win @ Evens (Bet365)

World Cup 2010 – Day #12 – Group A

22 Jun

We’re now down to the business end of the group stages and we have a tricky couple of fixtures to start with.

Mexico v Uruguay

With the draw at odds on, everyone is expecting this to end in a stalemate so that both teams qualify.
However with the second place team facing Argentina next, both teams should look to go for it from the start. Mexico are currently second and so I think they may start the scoring.
The other scenario is that if it’s a draw with 20 mins to go, the teams could both hold back not wanting to lose.
As such backing Mexico at HT and the last goal before 67 mins.

1 point Last goal time 67 mins or before @ 6/5 (PaddyPower)
0.5 point Mexico/Draw HT/FT @ 10/1 (Stan James)

South Africa v France

I was on the host nation to qualify from this group but they are now 40/1 to do so and looking down and out.
France however are looking worse with their well reported troubles and with their manager seeming to have no control. South Africa could take advantage.
The trouble is the Bafana Bafana are still lacking quality and won’t be able to score enough if the other game doesn’t end in a draw.
Taking the hosts to gain a small victory with money back if a draw.

1 point South Africa DNB @ 6/4 (BetChronicle)

World Cup 2010 – Day #9 tips

19 Jun

I’m a bit short of time today, so not much explanation of the tips

Holland v Japan

I think Japan may try and play for a draw here after starting with a win, but I think with Robben returning to the side, we could find the Dutch function better than against the Danes.

As such, going for a win to nil bet plus a few goals for the Dutch, as I expect an early goal.

1 point on Holland to win to nil @ Evens (Paddy Power/SkyBet)

1 point on Holland to score 3+ goals @ 21/10 (SkyBet)

Ghana v Australia

Ghana impressed in their opening game against Serbia, but were gifted the win with a penalty.

I expect them to win this one as well as Australia without Cahill need to attack.

The lone striker Gyan is their main goal threat, and so the 11/5 to score anytime seems very generous.

1 point A Gyan to score @ 11/5 (Bet365)
