Premiership tips – round #12 – part 2

10 Nov

Back to winning ways last night, though we had to wait until midway through the second half for a couple of quick fire goals to land the cash.

So a couple more for today, though I’ve dropped a bet on Newcastle as missed the 11/10 which was available on Sunday. To win 4 on the trot could also prove tricky. So off to Villa Park for something familiar….

Aston Villa v Blackpool

Blackpool are back on the road again, and can hopefully spring another surprise against a goal shy Villa.
I have minor concerns over traveling arrangements for Blackpool, being a small club in the Premiership but hopefully they will be prepared by time they hit the West Midlands.
I quite fancy the half goal Asian Handicap for Holloway’s men at 11/8 but going to try and get another first corner bet with them instead.
Villa are more defensive these days and so hoping the usual Blackpool out the blocks with nick the first flag kick.

1 point – First corner – Blackpool @ 5/4 (Bet365)

Wolves v Arsenal

The fixture computer has not been kind to Mick McCarthey’s men of late, maybe as a payback for his awful co-commentating during the World Cup.
However they have acquitted themselves well against the Top 6 sides and have been unlucky on occasions.
My tactic of backing half-time draws in Arsenal games comes up again as the 4-4-2 formation is the best way to stifle the Gunners.
After two straight defeats, they could be nervous going into this, so we’ll stick the HT draw in again.

1 point – Half Time result – Draw @ 11/8 (Bet365)

Wigan v Liverpool

Finally, a trip up north and the strangely interesting Wigan side who seem to just float along in the Premiership.
Don’t get me wrong, I pleased a small club had come up through the leagues and shown what can be done. There just don’t seem a lot of coverage for a team who have now been 5 years in the top flight.
Anyway, they play Liverpool who scuppered my Chelsea bet at the weekend but could recover some for me today.
With only Charles Insomnia looking to be the only goal threat and Hodgeson finding a solid looking system with Kuyt back, I fancy another clean sheet for the reds. Could be another high scorer at the DW stadium, hopefully with no home goals.

2 points – Clean Sheet – Liverpool @ 11/10 (PaddyPower)
