Premiership tips – round #11

6 Nov

Another week and another set of tips. We have a midweek set of fixtures to plan for as well this week, so we hopefully will be in good profit come this time next week.

Last week saw a small loss after Spurs failed to breach Man United defence, though Van De Vaart hit the post and they had a go despite the Nani goal farce. On that note, the best discussion on that goal I’ve heard is on the Championship manager podcast when surprisingly Graham Poll explain what happened and what should have happened. I certainly recommend this podcast which is a regular listen for me each week.

I placed my first double stake bet last week and this is why a loss occurred because Villa and Birmingham got my patent half time draw, but it wasn’t enough to cover the 2 points lost on Spurs.

I however have a max bet this weekend plus we return to the Hawthorns and Old Trafford.

Man United v Wolves

Despite the loss last week, we take on Fergie’s team again as they take on Wolves again after their recent 3-2 win over them in the League Cup.

Wolves received a bad press recently after HenryGate in which they were deemed a nasty set of players, trying to bully there way to survival. However since his suspension they have been impressing despite not taking the points and getting dragged into the relegation zone.

They may not take all the points today but could well give a good account of themselves from the off and the 2/1 on a half time draw appeals to me.

Liverpool v Chelsea

Liverpool have won 3 on the trot now to recover nicely after their disastrous start to the season saw they sitting 2nd bottom.

However hard fought wins against Blackburn and Bolton plus a comeback Gerrard inspired win in midweek over Napoli can’t really point to a proper recovery just yet.

As such the 11/10 that was available at Betfred on Chelsea to win this game was too good to turn down and brings me to place my first maximum bet of the season.

Woy’s negative tactics should be punished by a fluid Chelsea setup, even with Torres in much better form that 2 weeks ago. You could take a look at the both to score odds but an away win looks the best value to me.

3 points – Chelsea to win @ 11/10 (BetFred)

West Brom v Man City

We take on another fragile side this Sunday, in the shape of overpaid misfits Manchester City.

A return to the Black Country this week could see a similar return as last week loss against Wolves, when they lost 2-1.

West Brom’s progress was harshly halted last week by Blackpool and 2 red cards but they could well teach Mancini a lesson in team building and punish the bickering in the playboys camp.

The Baggies have won many plaudits this season and I’m hoping a third tip for the footygeek at the Hawthorns will result in more profit again.

1 point – West Brom to win @ 13/5 (Coral)
