Premiership tips – round #10

30 Oct

We’re nearly a quarter of the way through the season already and the profits keep coming.
Another 1.2 points were gained last week thanks to West Brom’s comeback win against Fulham nudging the profits for the season to nearly 8 points. Everton’s draw saw our stake returned in the other tip.
This proved a sensible decision as did several other choices which proved correct to avoid any losses. The Blackpool corner bet failed as I feared plus my decision to stay out of Man City-Arsenal game with a hunch City would win was also correct.

So time to ramp things up a bit, now we’re proving out tipster credentials.

Man United v Tottenham

An interesting looking game for the evening kick off on Saturday, especially with Champions league games for both teams coming up in midweek.
‘Arry has already stressed he needs his side to prove themselves in these kind of games and will attack from the off.
Like Holloway at Blackpool, his teams like to attack and this looks primed for goals.
Man U are by no means watertight despite the return of Ferdinand and Vidic at the back, and the full backs could be exposed especially by the in-form Bale.
United do have a good history in this fixture and also decent attacking options, so a both to score bet looks best.

2 points – Both teams to score @ 8/11 (Stan James)

Aston Villa v Birmingham

Moving on to Sunday, and the first of two derby games in which I expect it to be less of a firey game than between Newcastle and Sunderland.
I also expect less goals as well as both teams will setup as 4-4-2 for starters.
Both games last season we’re extremely tight with both finishing 1-0 to Villa with late goals.
We can expect more of the same despite Houllier being in charge now and my usual half time bet looks good.

1 point – Half Time result – draw @ 6/5 (Coral)
