Premiership tips – round #6

25 Sep

There are not many things in life which are decent and free. The Football Ramble podcast and Fatboy Slim’s summer 2010 mix I count as two I have enjoyed recently and I hope people are counting my tips as another.
So as Luther and Janet used to say, “the best things in life are free”, and regular readers to this blog will agree, as we push forward with profit of just over 3.5 points during the last 6 weeks.

Things are starting to shape up for the season and already despair and panic is beginning to show at some clubs (no more so than at my beloved Leicester City, 6-1!) and the hope for a successful season begin to fade. I am very interested though in how the newly promoted sides are fairing so far, especially my weekly obsession with corner kings Blackpool. Could all 3 teams stay up?

Goal scorer bets to take note of this week could be Gyan away at Liverpool, 2 in 2 games means he’s settled in well and could be a big price to score anytime. Also DJ Campbell has looked lively since jumping ship from the Foxes and Ameobi should be full of confidence after his performance midweek against Chelsea.

Anyway, we’re all busy people, so let’s go win some money….

Fulham v Everton

Fulham have featured quite regularly on this blog over the first few weeks of the season and we hope to profit from events at Craven Cottage again. I had considered a straight win for Mark Hughes men, possibly with a draw no bet price of Evens available. However the slow start of Everton is niggling away at me and despite what seems to be a mini crisis for the Toffeemen, Moyes has turned things around before and should do so again.

Fulham have also been blighted with more injuries and this time another attacking option in Dembele has been removed from the tactics board.

Both should be using the 4-4-1-1 option during the game which could also cancel each other out for starters, so looking at low scoring options in half time draw and playing the Unders for a change.

1 point – Half Time result – Draw @ 11/10 (Coral)
1 point – Under 2.5 goals @ 8/11 (totesport)

Blackpool v Blackburn

I know I’m probably pushing this bet, but this once again looks to be a typical game in which Blackpool will go and have a go at the opposition, looking for 3 more points. Unless they believe they are playing Real Madrid with Big Sam in charge, the first corner bet should go to the home side once again.

A slight danger in that Blackburn like to use set pieces themselves, so could force the chance of them getting in first up, but we all know the score on this bet and while Bet365 still let me place it, I’ll keep taking the money.

1 point – First Corner – Blackpool @ 10/11 (Bet365)
