World Cup – Day #19 – tips

29 Jun

The last set of games in round 2 before we get a few days to review and reflect the events of the last 3 weeks. The last 16 games have proved very profitable for me, so let’s see if we can finish with a clean sweep of profitable days.

Japan v Paraguay

Probably looking at this, the least attractive of the last 16 games, as both teams have surprised people by getting out of their group, especially Paraguay who topped Group F.

Paraguay though are not the most exciting of teams and with their deep lying midfield and slow build up, could allow the talents of Japan to flourish, similar to their game against Denmark.

Honda is a personal fav of mine and will look at the tasty 3/1 for him to score, plus after their impressive free-kicks against the Danes, have a small nibble on the first goal coming from a free kick again.

However, I think it will be a slow start and will try an old favourite of the half time draw for starters.

1.5 points Half Time result – Draw @ 11/10 (Bet365)

0.5 point First goal method – Direct Free Kick @ 18/1 (888sport/Bluesq)

1 point Honda to score anytime @ 3/1 (Paddy Power/Bet365)

Spain v Portugal

Two European giants go head to head, but it may not be a goalfest. Portugal are very solid but over rated in my opinion and so I hope the reigning European champions come through, maybe if they use some width.

However I think it could take some time to grind down the Portugeezers, so going for more second half goals in this one.

2 points Spain to win @ 11/10 (Coral)

2 points More goals in second half @ 23/20 (888/Bluesq/Boyles)
