World Cup 2010 – Day #11 tips

20 Jun

With it being the last of the 3 game days and after a blank day yesterday, going to try and get things back on track with a few less risky selections.

Portugal v North Korea

I’m not a big fan of Portugal and manager Carlos Queiroz seems to have learned nothing from his time at Old Trafford under Alex Ferguson, as he seems tactically naive.

They have a strong defensive setup and with the talent up top they should be scoring for fun, but it doesn’t work for them and they could have more trouble against the stubborn North Koreans.

I feel that if a goal is coming, then it will be later rather than sooner, so a goal after half an hour seems a reasonable shout.

Also gonna chance Korea taking something from this, as I also have them in a forecast with Brazil.

1 point First goal after 29 or more minutes @ Evens (Stan James)

0.5 point North Korea to win @ 14/1 (ExtraBet)

0.5 point Korea DPR +0.5 @ 15/8 (Bet365)

Chile v Switzerland

Chile impressed from the start in the first game, and despite coming up against Spain’s victors Switzerland, should continue their winning ways.

Switzerland defended stoutly against the Spanish, but could have been undone if Spain had got their act together.

A straight win bet for me on this to see Chile through to the knockout stages.

1 point Chile @ 11/8 (Boyles)

Spain v Honduras

Spain can’t be as bad as they were in the opener against Switzerland and so I would look for a straight forward win for them.

Honduras are very defensive minded but will need to get something from the game. Despite this I think a couple of goals between the teams will be enough.

1 point Spain to win by 2 goals @ 3/1 (Ladbrokes/Coral)
