World Cup 2010 – Day #10 tips

20 Jun

Didn’t have time to study the Denmark game but happy with the result as this set me up for my forecast I placed early in the week. A win for the Danes against Japan and happy days.

Slovakia v Paraguay

Both teams have a point on the board and will hope to take 3 from this to help towards qualification to the knockout stage.

However Slovakia will need the points more with Italy up next, and I think they will come out an attack a bit more from the start.

As such, I think the price on them getting the first corner looks worth taking.

1 point Slovakia to win first corner @ 11/10 (SkyBet/Stan James)

Italy v New Zealand

Most will expect Italy to win this one, and after a slow start against Paraguay, they looked better when they switched to a 4-4-2.

New Zealand are an attack minded team and got their reward with a late equaliser against Slovakia in the last game.

WIth the high defense line Italy played in the last game, I’m gonna take another chance on an offside bet again, and hope New Zealand will get caught first.

1 point New Zealand to be offside first @ 39/20 (Bwin)

Brazil v Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast set out to frustrate Portugal in their last game and hoped to nick something near the end when they brought Drogba on, and I can see them trying to do the same here.

Sven will look to gain a  point and then win the last game against North Korea, who may have to open up themselves to qualify, so a defensive setup should be on the cards here.

As with North Korea, Brazil will find it hard to break down the bank of players in front of them, though it won’t be a 5 man defense this time.

I think a half time draw looks the best options, as Brazil may struggle to break the Ivorians down, even towards the end of the game.

2 point Half Time Draw @ 5/4 (Coral)
