World Cup 2010 – Day #8 tips

18 Jun

Germany v Serbia

I have been struggling to find an angle on this one, after being impressed by the Germans in their first game but wondering what the Serbian’s will do next.

If Serbia set themselves up the same as they did against Ghana, then Germany may well rip them apart the same as they did Australia, but with that defeat Serbia need to get something from the game, and so may be more adventurous.

I think Germany should win this and looked at the win to nil option again but with so many question marks for me against this game, going for a semi random selection of the first goal method being a header. Serbia will more than likely use set pieces as a way into the match and Germany should get down the wings and cross in balls for Klose.

Also gonna double Germany with England for a nice double at just over Evens.

0.5 First Goal Method (Header) @ 4/1 (888Sport/Bluesq/Bet365)

1 point double with Germany/England @ 2.09 (Evens) with Coral

USA v Slovenia

The hoohaa surrounding Robert Green’s gaff against England defected away from the USA’s performance in the match, and most people will probably expect them to go on an qualify now.

However, Slovenia have 3 points on the board now, and despite the fact that the game with Algeria was a borefest, they will look to get the better of USA who are now there closest rivals.

They will set themselves up to get a draw and try and hit on the break or from a set piece, so going for a low scoring game again, as both 4-4-2 formations should cancel each other out.

1 point on draw @ 12/5 (totesport/Betfred)

0.5 point No goalscorer @ 7/1 (Ladbrokes)

England v Algeria

As well as the double I will go for easy win tonight for England. Lessons will have been learned and with Barry back in the team, the midfield should get control of the game.

Everyone is hoping for goals, and Rooney should kick start his account (but is too short at 8/11) and I think we could have 3 or 4 goals in the game.

As such we’ll take the Over 2.5 goals option especially as England can leak the odd goal.

1 point Over 2.5 goals @ Evens (BetFred)
