As you can see, an health profit from the start thanks to my favourite South African striker hitting the post in the closing stages of the opening game.

You’ll notice that like the game itself, the France v Uruguay has a zero against it, as I got this bet refunded.

This was because Henry didn’t start the game and so bet was void. I was a bit annoyed that Ribery got booked though, as it was a toss up between the two and I picked the wrong one.

Day 2 saw me blindly following a pre-match hunch that Greece could bore their way out of Group B at the expense of South Korea. My 1-0 scoreline was gone before you could say Mousaka and the corners bet soon followed.

Slightly better times in the next game as Henize scored to boost my fantasy football team on SkySports but the goals failed to arrive as Messi missed a hat full and Tevez didn’t get a sniff.

Then came the England game, and though I wasn’t cheering the USA goal, it did give me a small profit on the game. That was because of the King injury which not only stopped him from get MoM but also no refund on goal scorer bet when Rooney failed to net.

A disappointing day 2 turned into an excellent day 3, as despite the poor showing from both Algeria and Slovenia, a straight back of the Slovenians proved profitable thanks to another goalkeeper error.

Then despite a few early scares, the backing a goal after 30 mins proved successful with a late Ghana penalty.
The day was topped off by a German victory (who’d of thought I’d say that!) as they won to nil as predicted.
I’m liking the world cup malarkey and I say we should have one every year, especially now there no big brother next summer.
